A life dedicated for brides

Maria
Cristina

Founder
of the Delsa bridal wear company

This historic Italian company, specifically from Marche region, was born 50 years ago from the idea of a woman who wanted to create something unique for brides in their most important moment, she wanted to “dress” their love’s dream. This woman is MARIA CRISTINA.

She learns the first rudiments of the art of sewing, in a cloistered convent and then progresses to perfection, at the “Secoli” institute in Milan, one of the foremost schools in the world. This preparation gave her everything she needed to realize her dream: love for beauty, for work done in a workmanlike manner, all seasoned with a great creative fervor. To its entrepreneurial qualities is added the value of the family, which has always been the fulcrum of Maria Cristina, who still holds the reins of the company.

The first step is a small workshop in Tolentino, where Maria Cristina created children’s wear. Afterwards Maria Cristina decided to broaden her horizons and in 1979 founded the company that still exists in Belforte del Chienti. This is where the woman Maria Cristina managed to unite family life and business. A dream factory where Maria Cristina and her staff took part in the most important day of every woman’s life. National and international fame were not long in coming. Delsa, its creations and the Gioello range were always to be found on the front pages of the most important bridal wear magazines, achieving a level of fame that Maria Cristina could never have thought possible.
Several trade magazines sing the praises of Delsa garments: luxurious dresses from the most traditional to the more transgressive, or minimalist and simple garments, always created with fine fabrics – silk first and foremost – reflecting absolute design perfection in their details. The embroidery, lace, pearls and other luminous materials, are all small works of art that complete the design, expressed in every model and supported with the creative guarantee that is Made in Italy.

The company, founded in 1969, celebrates 50 years of activity and despite the half century still today the clothes of the current four lines (Delsa Couture, Delsa Fashion, Perle and Delsa Boutique) are the dream of many women, in Italy and abroad. They are made in the Belforte del Chienti plant and in the laboratories that Delsa has opened in the world. Much has changed since Maria Cristina sewed her ancestry in her bedroom, but what remains is the unchanged care for the beauty and high craftsmanship that the businesswoman had learned from the hands of the “Clarisse Del Colle” nuns. Synergy between product perfection and modern business features: it has always been and continues to be the guiding principle of the company philosophy that Maria Cristina's sons, now head of Delsa, have never abandoned.
